Module 2 - Goal Setting

Stand by, Aim, Ready, Kick aaand….. GOOOOOAAAAALLL!!!

Oh, hello again..! I’m sorry for the first part. I was imagining that I am watching football tournament. Anyway, let’s put that aside. Let’s focus on today’s topic. Today I would like to share UED 102, syllabus 2,
Goal Setting. This topic was taught by Miss Noor Amira Syazwani bt Abd Rahman at 26th of July.

Let’s us take a look the definition of goal. What is goal? Based on Miss Amira, goal is (noun) the object of a person's ambition or effort; an aim or desired result.

Of course, each of us have our own goal in our life. No matter how
BIG or small that goal is, we will try to work for it in order to achieve the goal. If we have our own goal, but no effort given, it is just build castles in the sky.

Our goal need to be clear. The goal itself need to have its own characteristic. Here are some of the characteristic that your goal need to have.

Self-chosen – the goal is by our own will. Not force by someone.

Moderately challenging – challenge yourself with new things

Realistic – an idiom build castles in the sky suit for this definition,

Measureable – once we can track our progress, there won’t be a problem; unless if it is not measurable

Specific – must have Why, When, What, How. Instead of  “I want to save lot of money.”, change into “I want to save RM500 per month.”

Positive – straight to the point. There’s no one who set their goal like this “I want to bully 3-5 people a day”. If there’s one, s/he will be going to need psychological treatment.

Finite – have it limit of time; starting, climax, ending, review. Infinite goal often fails because they don’t know when to stop, rest, revise to review the result.

That’s all guys! Thank you for visiting my blog. See you in another chapter!
